A Bloody Mary and a Birthday Lunch at Jasmine Porch is a great way to celebrate with the girls. When you are in Charleston and want to get out of town to another beautiful location, drive to Kiawah Island. We were having our annual high school girlfriends lunch that we celebrate every year together in Charleston and ended up exploring Kiawah Island. It’s about 42 minutes via State Rd S-10-20 from Charleston. Enjoy the picturesque drive.
Visit the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and do some shopping. Take some pictures on the beautiful staircase and having a scrumpcious lunch at one of the restaurants. We choose The Jasmine Porch! What a charming restaurant with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and a “Taste of the Lowcountry”. What a wonderful place to go with girlfriends for a birthday lunch.
The lunch was really good and especially the Bloody Mary. Many of us had them and they were spiced just right. The pictures here are from our lunch at Jasmine Porch and the following recipe is my recipe for a spicy Bloody Mary
The Bloody Mary can be found on almost every brunch menu in the South. It was supposedly invented in 1920 at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. The Bloody Mary usually is made with vodka, tomato juice, horseradish, celery salt, worcestershire sauce, lemon and celery stalks There are lots of variations of Bloody Mary’s with juices added from the brine of pickles and olives.
