Orange Glazed Pork Tenderloin

March 22, 2015 by Linda 9 Comments

This Orange Glazed Pork Tenderloin is both delicious and easy to make.  Pork tenderloin is one of the most tender cuts of pork and only needs to be cooked for a short time.  It can be grilled, baked, or sauteed.  My husband loves a pork shoulder or butt with all the fat and I admit that those cuts can be delicious but you do have to cook them much longer to get that tender and juicy meat.  A pork loin is delicious and lower in fat but much dryer and also has to be cooked longer than a pork tenderloin.   So the pork tenderloin requires a short cooking time and with a rub or the addition of a glaze or sauce it can be delicious in a short time.

Pork tenderloin usually comes in a package of two tenderloins, so I thought it was a good opportunity to make two different versions, this Orange Glazed Pork Tenderloin and a Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin with a sweet maple glaze, but more about the bacon wrapped one later.  If you like pork then you might want to check out this recipe for Pork Loin with Cherry Wine Sauce or French Onion Pork Chops.

PORK TENDERLOIN IS ONE OF THE LEANEST CUTS OF PORK.  IT ONLY HAS 6 GRAMS OF FAT IN A 4 OZ PORTION. IT’S ALSO HIGH IN PROTEIN, 23 GRAMS IN A 4OZ SERVING.    THIS RECIPE WILL NOT ADD ANY EXTRA FAT TO THE DISH.

One of my favorite flavors is orange marmalade.  For this recipe I used orange marmalade and brown sugar combined with dijon mustard, soy sauce and worcestershire

ORANGE GLAZED PORK TENDERLOIN

Ingredients:

1 pork tenderlion
salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 Tablespoons dijon mustard
1 Tablespoon soy sauce
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1 small can mandarin oranges

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.   Sprinkle tenderloin with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder.  Place in rectangular baking dish.

2.  Mix brown sugar, maple syrup, dijon mustard, soy sauce, worcestershire and orange marmalade together.  Pour over pork tenderloin in baking dish.

3.  Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.  Remove and add mandarin oranges to the top.  Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes.

4.  Place tenderloin on serving platter and pour some of the pan drippings over top and put the remainder of the pan drippings in a gravy boat or bowl to serve on the side.  Serves 4.
